Abstract:
This report synthesizes discussions held at the seventh meeting of the International Association for the Study of Forced Migration (IASFM) (formerly known as International Research and Advisory Panel conferences). The rapporteur begins with a review of general forced migration policy trends identified at the conference, then highlights perceived policy challenges. The report continues with a summary of issues raised within the context of specific academic disciplines, an overview of several policy initiatives including assistance, return strategies and integration programs, and an outline of various policy dilemmas. He concludes with a look at future forced migration policy approaches.
